It’s October and historically, the honeymoon is over between a number of students and school. For a wide-range of reasons, “Back to School” inspires the best from our kids. Certainly, with Covid and the gap between real instruction and remote learning, over a year or more; most students looked forward to the start of school. However, the truth still stands: Many students simply lose interest once we hit October. Or their ability to maintain self-regulation falls by the wayside; especially if attention or ADHD is an issue, This is a pattern we have seen for years.

So, I ask this question for it may be time for you to meet with your child’s teacher and develop an updated plan moving forward: Is the honeymoon over for your child? Waiting till “Conferences” or the “progress report” may be a bit late for intervention to take place. And if your son or daughter has an IEP or a 504 Plan, NOW is the time!

Just saying …

And if you need any assistance, give a call.
