You are not alone.

Have you been thinking about your kid’s education lately; maybe wanting the very best for them and you’re not for sure if your child’s school is really making the difference you hoped for?  Maybe you have a child with special needs; do you ever get the feeling that the school system serves your child like a square-peg within a round-hole?

Teachers, do you ever question your decision to enter the teaching profession for your school district seems to be focused on politically driven initiatives way off the mark from your personal vision of the classroom, learning, and what’s best for kids?  Do you ever feel far removed from the true meaning of why you decided to teach in the first place?

Have you ever thrown your arms up in the air in frustration and thought, “I can’t change the schools; it is way too big or complex for me to make a difference?”  Do you ever feel like just giving up or just giving in?

If you answered “yes” to any of the questions above, then this book is written for you for the intention here is to inspire a new way of thinking.  But more so, the purpose of this writing is to create a new paradigm for genuine reform; real change one child at a time. However, I must say right from the get-go, this is not a “how to book” in the conventional style of a paint-by-numbers formula.  In fact, I would describe Embracing the Gift Within more like a “why to book”; a call to arms. A wake-up call!

Since the 1980’s, the American education system has been struggling with one new restructuring fad after another with the same results; very little in return.  This book takes on the issue of school reform but does so with a far-reaching departure from traditional systems; based upon a shift of perspective guided by embracing the gift within each child first and foremost; a child centered – “gifted education for all” outlook.

So thank you for joining me on this path for your readership is surely appreciated.  Without you, I am a lone voice in the wilderness.  I have faith that there are many more of us who believe in our children and the promise expressed through each one , and together, we can make a difference by embracing the gift within.
